The Gaffney’s team is always at the center of community events and involvement. John, is a firm believer in bringing the community together frequently through the arts, music and food industry’s to help keep the local economy booming.

John and long term friend Dale Easter, (formerly of the Tin and Lint and Professor Moriaty’s) are the founding fathers of “The Caroline Street Association,” a group dedicated to organizing events on Caroline Street. For twenty years this group organized the annual “Block Party,” an infamous event that drew crowds from all the neighboring counties and towns. A little too infamous it has now been transformed into the more quiet and classy “Blues and Arts Fest.” An event that not only involves the music scene but also local artists are on show through out Caroline Street for the day.

John also has been on the board of The Saratoga Chamber of Commerce for the past 6 years and is currently Vice Chair of Communications.

This ball has raised over 350,000 dollars through a campaign asking locals to vote for their favorite bartender. The winning bartender is then honored at the ball and 100% of the proceeds raised are donated back to a different not for profit each year who are undergoing building renovations.

The annual Chowder Fest has also become one of Saratoga’s most popular events and Gaffney’s is proud to be the winner of the “Best Chowder” for the past 3 years.
