John Baker bought the Gaffney business in 1982 and the Gaffney building in 1986. The building itself was designed and constructed by John Gaffney in 1903, and its Romanesque features are typical of the late 19th century. Of primary interest and notice ability are the balanced two bay façade with large keystone arch that divides the building and rusticated quoins.

Gaffney’s consists of two indoor bars, “The Starting Gate” and “The Original Bar.” There is also an outside bar “The Winners Circle” as well as a garden eating area and inside dining area where you’ll find yourself immersed in the historic photography on the walls…

Above Gaffney’s are twelve apartments, otherwise known as “ The Gaffney Towers.”
